The Environmentally
Responsible Alternative

  • Eco-friendly; produced using 100% recycled polythene diverting valuable waste from landfill.
  • Long lasting; Plaswood has a lifespan at least four times timber alternatives.
  • Low Maintenance; being rot proof and resistant to algae there is little or no requirement for maintenance, painting or preservatives avoiding the use of CCA preservatives.
  • Fully Recyclable; can be fully recycled at the end of its use.
  • Completely inert; Plaswood will not leach any chemicals into the ground, or surrounding environment.

Decking

Plaswood can now be used to replace traditional wooden decking by using the moulded 32mm x 150mm planks. The connect fixing system and the technical data sheet showing a step by step guide on how to achieve this, Plaswood will give years of maintenance free decking in any outdoor environment. Available in black, grey, brown or dark green.

Boardwalks

Using Plaswood for boardwalks and walkways construction has many advantages over its traditional timber alternatives. It is cost effective, labour saving and particularly suited to the harsh wet environments they are placed in. Plaswood does not require treating with preservatives and will not leach any harmful chemicals into the earth or waterway. These structures are available with or without handrails and include a ‘V’ notched deck plank to aid non-slip.

Pontoons

Plaswood decking and edgings work extremely well for pontoon construction. These specialised products combine the use of the traditional and recycled materials to ensure a long lasting, cost effective alternative to conventionally constructed floating pontoons. Plaswood can be worked in a similar manner to timber, allowing essential marine fittings to be used such as bollards, cleats and eyes.

Staging & Platforms

Plaswood provides the perfect, long lasting solution for staging, fishing platforms and jetties. Again, it works well on its own or with a combination of traditional materials such as gabion baskets. If handrails are required for any of these structures, they can either be incorporated into the overall main structure or mounted into a socket fixing on the deck surface.

Bank Revetment Protection

There are several methods of Plaswood use in these applications. The most common is the log roll type of installation for lakes and riverways but we also offer a variety of planks and square posts which make up panels for protection works. Our technical support team will be able to advise you on the most suitable method to meet your needs.

Barriers

Plaswood makes an ideal fendering material to protect vessels, structures, pontoons and staging. It has low surface friction characteristics and resistant to wear. We offer two larger sections for this purpose; the 225mm x 75mm and 150mm x 75mm both in black. Bolting and fixing is easy enough to do as they drill through to accept any traditional fixing type.
